The purpose of the Gardening by the Sea Garden Club is to stimulate and share the knowledge, love of gardening, and promote environmental awareness among its members. Serve our community through sharing with residents of Crest Haven facility, observance of Arbor Day with elementary school students, contribute to the community food bank and to further horticultural education, conservation and landscape design while establishing ties through old and new friendships. To award a scholarship to a local student who plans to have career in the environmental field.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN MAY AND JUNE:

In May,  the club was represented at the celebration of Cape May being an United States Coast Guard city. The celebration was held at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal

Also in May,  at Cape Regional High School the club presented a $1000 scholarship to a high school
senior to assist him with his college tuition. In September, he will be studying Civic Engineering with an minor in environmental studies at a four-year college.  During the presentation we announced that the scholarship is named after our founder Olive Sinzheimer who died in 2014.

The club will end the year with an indoor picnic and plant auction at our June Meeting.
